10 questions to ask your rental agent
Your rental agent should be looking out for your best interests
A Property Manager’s job requires experience, expertise and industry qualifications. Ensure that you engage a true professional by asking for the following information:
- How many properties have you leased in this suburb in the last month?
- What qualifications does your trust accountant have?
- How often do they monitor your funds?
- Do you have a landlord online system similar to a private banking website?
- If so can you show this to me?
- What are the demographics of this region?
- Do you have statistics today with you on how many prospective tenant enquiries you have per week?
- What is your normal time on market for this suburb?
- What is your leasing terms’ conversion ratio for this month?
- Do you have a rental list that is distributed to all of your office locations in Sydney? Can I see one?
- Do you have a dedicated tenant hotline number?
- Would you hire yourself to list and lease this property? Why?
